about me....

Hello and welcome to my artistic headquarters! My name is Zoë Shulman and I am an eighteen-year-old art student currently attending high school in Austin, Texas. By day, I’m the basic American teenager – doing my daily deeds and enjoying spending time with family and friends. By night, however, I dedicate my nocturnal habits to art.

My art, as I’d describe it, is subjective. It’s very pliable to what the viewer’s mind sees it to be. The personal meanings that I have given my pieces are only the diving board at which I had created them by. The rest – or the pool, I should say, is up to the individual to comprehend. I like to see my work as a never-ending book, where each sentence is written by a different person – and even finished, a piece can still be “rewritten” by how someone may describe it.

So I invite you, the viewer, to dive in! I hope you enjoy the peek into my mind as an artist – and stay tuned as I keep developing and adding to the site.

mission statement ...

People live for one another. I believe that the purpose of the human existence is to serve the fellow man and that with this lifetime we’ve each been given, we must give back something of ourselves to better our reality. The artwork I am producing is a construction of the gift that I am trying to give to the world. I want to use my art as a tool to help heal the wounds of today’s society.

However, I am a juvenile. I haven’t traveled enough of my path to clearly see how to execute this huge mission that I want so direly to achieve. So I reach out to you - I reach out to everyone that fate has been kindly enough to send to me. You are the viewer – the audience that I am preaching to. I want to move you – to shake you up and brake down the barrier that keeps us apart. So please, if you’ve been touched by my work, I would like to know. Through your feedback, I am able to better tread the path that I’m taking.

As always, thank you for viewing – and supporting!
